Carter Enyeart

Cello Professor Carter Enyeart graduated from the Eastman School of Music "with distinction" and the Performer's Certificate and began teaching cello while in graduate school. His broad experience as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player establish him as one of the leading artist/teachers in the country, and give weight to his fine reputation as a renowned teacher of cello who has experience in the entire range of cello playing.

Mr. Enyeart is Director of the annual summer Kansas City Cello Clinic (conservatory.umkc.edu/community_academy/celloclinic.aspx) held each June at UMKC. It is a ten day cello camp designed to strengthen technique and practice habits and includes daily master classes with Mr. Enyeart, seminars, coaching and recitals by invited guest artists, small ensembles and Cello Orchestra. Participation at this cello festival is limited to 25 young cello students, selected by audition.

As a cello teacher, Carter Enyeart has established an enviable record of success, sending students on such schools as Rice, Cleveland Institute, Eastman, Juilliard, Boston University, Longy, and New England Conservatory. His students are praised for their musicality, sound production and solid technique. He has presented master classes and recitals in music schools across the country and in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Taipei, Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.

Mr. Enyeart continues to perform as soloist and chamber musician but focuses mainly on his activities as a teacher of fine young cello students.
